Monika Myers

Down syndrome doesn’t define Monika, it is simply a part of who she is. Monika believes “All Women are Beautiful” and is proud to be making history as a professional international model.

At age 14, Monika broke the glass ceiling and became Canada’s first runway model with Down syndrome to walk in Toronto Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week.

She has walked for top designers and has been called “a showstopper” and “gifted on the runway”.

Monika has become recognized worldwide and has been interviewed on tv, news, and radio, and featured in editorials and publications all around the world. She has been on the cover of many fashion magazines and has been listed on the Top Influential and Inspirational Women List of 2022.

She brings positive awareness for people with Down syndrome and visible differences and is honoured to be titled the Youth Day GLOBAL Ambassador for people with Down syndrome. She has received a Certificate of Recognition from the Canadian Member of Parliament for her achievements and community efforts.

Outside of modelling, Monika enjoys many sports and activities including figure skating, dance, theatre, and choir. She is an active Girl Guide, a skier, and a gold medalist in artistic swimming.

She is an inspiration to many and touches the hearts of all who meet her. She started an initiative called “I AM BRAVE AND BEAUTIFUL”, making bracelets to empower other girls, so that they too, have the confidence to believe in themselves to pursue their own dreams.

Monika really lives life to the fullest, has an engaging personality, and a smile that lights up any room.
